A joint team of Kasama Municipal Council officers and police have removed street vendors from the Kasama town centre.
The operation that begun in the early hours of Monday saw officers destroy all illegal stalls in the central business district.
This move follows a meeting which was held between the local authority and vendors.
Kasama Municipal Council Assistant Public Relations Manager Charity Chaiwila says the council will continue to patrol the streets to ensure compliance.
