The twenty-four (24) members of the New Apostolic Church who died in a road traffic accident last Saturday around the infamous Kapiri-Ngozi area along the Kafue-Chirundu road have been buried in Nkumbula Village, in Chongwe District east of the capital city Lusaka.
Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral service at a local church, among them was Chongwe Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo and Lusaka Province Minister Sheal Mulyata.
Joseph Felemenga, who represented the bereaved families, has appealed to the government to support relatives of the departed churchgoers.
Twenty-four (24) members of the New Apostolic Church of Chongwe District died while 12 survived with serious injuries after a Mitsubishi Rosa bus they were traveling in hit the rear of a Freightliner Truck at Kapiri-Ngozi area in Chirundu District.
Preliminary investigations by the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) have revealed the fatal crash was caused by the bus driver’s negligence.
