It is over two weeks since Kamwala South Clinic in Lusaka was temporarily closed due to floods.

A latest check by Diamond Media at the facility that caters for over 20,000 people found a flooded deserted premises.

But in a quest to continue serving the vast community some members of staff were spotted operating at a nearby salon and restaurant to provide immunization to infants.

Around the same area the Zambia National Service-ZNS has partially excavated the affected area to create a drainage along Paul Ngozi Road in a bid to restore normalcy at the health post.

The wrath of the floods caused by heavy downpours has displaced families, while others have refused to relocate in fear of losing their prized possessions.

To mitigate the impact the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit-DMMU has joined forces with ZNS to drain waterlogged sites.
