Former President Edgar Lungu’s Political advisor Kaizer Zulu is still detained in police custody pending a court appearance on Tuesday November 29, 2022.
Mr. Zulu was arrested on November 24, 2022 for allegedly concealing a government vehicle, Toyota Land Cruiser VX contrary to Section 291 Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
According to the police, the said motor vehicle was assigned to him while serving at State House.
Earlier, the suspect’s lawyer Makebi Zulu threatened to make necessary applications to allow his client to be given bond or alternatively appear before court.
According to section 33 of the Criminal Procedure Code Act CPC any suspect maybe expected to appear before court within 24 hours after being taken into custody.
The same section however says a police officer in charge of a police station may release a suspect on such a charge until an inquiry is undertaken.
