National Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretary General, Charles Kabwita, has defected to the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).
Speaking during a press briefing in Kitwe, Kabwita says he has resigned from NDC following the good developmental policies he has seen from the UPND such as free education and recruitment of essential workers such as teachers and nurses.
Kabwita says he has not joined UPND to fight for any position but to work with the government of the day for the good of Zambians.
And in receiving Mr. Kabwita, UPND National Youth chairman, Gilbert Liswaniso, urged UPND members on the Copperbelt to embrace new members regardless of their political affiliation.
