
Ministry of Finance and National Planning says it released K22 billion in March 2026 to support public services and implement priorities set out in the national budget.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Treasury, K6.6bn was allocated to the public sector wage bill, while K3.8bn went towards debt servicing and arrears. A further K6.3bn was spent on transfers, subsidies and social benefits.
Government programmes and general operations received K4.5bn, while K767.5m was allocated to capital expenditure.
Finance Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane says the March disbursement reflects the government’s commitment to balancing fiscal discipline with service delivery, social protection and support for key sectors of the economy.
