Police Deputy Spokesmen, Danny Mwale, has confirmed that Mongu Judge in-charge Wilfred Muma, on Thursday morning was saved by a fisherman on the Zambezi Plains following a botched suicide.

Mr. Mwale says, moments after Judge Muma was rescued, he was later taken to Lewanika General Hospital for medical attention, while an inquiry file into the matter has been opened.

Earlier, Zambians were stunned by news of a report that the Mongu judge had gone missing after his abandoned official motor vehicle was discovered parked on the famous Mongu-Kalabo Bridge Wednesday night on the Zambezi plains.

But on Thursday, the judge was heard shouting for help from reeds where he had been stuck on the flood plains in fear of the current.
