A 27-year-old pregnant woman of Reuben Village in Chief Chimese’s area of Mansa has been murdered by her husband for unknown reasons.
The deceased, identified as Agnes Chama, had just returned from Musonda area where she had gone to dry cassava when the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday.
Neighbours have reported that they found the deceased lying in a pool of blood with deep head injuries suspected to have been inflicted using a hoe.
However, the suspect, Michael Bwalya, escaped before police arrival and has allegedly committed suicide.
