Hunger looms in Nanama area of Chilubi District, following a drop in water levels in the canal that branches off from Lake Bangweulu.

The island depends on Luwingu and Samfya for food and other services that require transportation through canals using boats.

Oswald Mumba, a resident, says ever since the water levels dropped, movement on the canal has become difficult, making it difficult to stock food.
