President Hakainde Hichilema says poor sanitation in slums is good breeding ground for cholera.
The president says going forward, authorities must prevent the mushrooming of unplanned settlements and upgrade existing slums.
He made the remarks when he toured Heroes Stadium Cholera Treatment Center where over one thousand patients are being treated.
Zambia is battling a cholera outbreak with 528 new cases and 17 deaths in the last 24 hours.
And presidents Hichilema has permanently employed two volunteer nurses for their selfless contribution to the fight against Cholera.
