President Hakainde Hichilema has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holding credible, peaceful, and transparent elections ahead of the August 2026 General Elections.
Speaking during the 2026 Presidential Annual Greetings to the Diplomatic Corps at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC) in Lusaka, President Hichilema acknowledged public anxiety surrounding the electoral process but assured citizens and the international community that peace and security remain a top priority.
The Head of State also highlighted Zambia’s progress in agriculture, announcing a record harvest of over 3.7 million metric tonnes of maize during the 2025 farming season.
He further noted that Zambia’s economic outlook remains positive, with real GDP growth projected to exceed 5.8 percent in 2026.
