HH URGES SADC TO TACKLE SECURITY THREATS COLLECTIVELY

.

President Hakainde Hichilema has called on Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State to continue working together in addressing regional security threats, warning that “instability anywhere is instability everywhere.”

President Hichilema has reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to responding to natural disasters and emergencies, both domestically and within the wider SADC region.

The head of state said this in the remarks delivered on his behalf by Acting Defence Minister Brenda Tamba Tamba during the flag-off ceremony of Exercise Blue Lugwasho targeted at drought-affected areas of Southern Province at the Zambia Air Force Base in Lusaka.

Meanwhile, Zambia Air Force Commander Lt. General Oscar Nyoni says Exercise Blue Lugwasho 2025 will involve nearly 1,000 troops from nine SADC member states, contributing air assets and logistical equipment.
