Republican President Hakainde Hichilema has urged his predecessor, Edgar Lungu, to retire from active politics and become a statesman.
Speaking to Journalists upon arrival from United Kingdom and France, President Hichilema said unlike Mr. Lungu, he will retire when his time comes and focus on rearing goats.
President Hichilema says when one’s term finishes, they must move on.
The President further says for a former president to enjoy his emoluments, they must stop active politics.
Meanwhile, President Hichilema has revealed that he will soon visit the Republic of China over the debt resolution process.
Patriotic Front presidential hopeful, Brian Mundubile, has welcomed the move by the President to visit China and make his case on debt restructuring.
