Republican President Hakainde Hichilema has arrived in Luanda, Angola for the 43rd Ordinary Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State and Government.
The summit will officially be opened tomorrow, August 17, 2023.
While here, the President will assume the chairmanship of SADC organ for politics, defense and security corporation.
In a statement, Minister of Foreign Affairs Stanley Kakubo says Zambia’s assumption of the Chairmanship elevates the country’s international standing, positioning it as a force for positive change and a beacon of regional leadership.
Other Heads of States that have arrived so far are South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa among others.
