Several samples collected in Lusaka’s Matero, Garden and Chipata Townships have tested positive for Typhoid in the first test.
This is according to Zambia National Public Health Institute.
ZNPHI Director General Professor Roma Chilengi says the samples tested positive through screening and have now been subjected for a second test called culture.
Prof. Roma Chilengi says Typhoid is not new in Lusaka which comes about due to use of contaminated water, food and unsanitary facilities.
