.

Copper Queens coach Nora Häuptle has summoned 38 players for a local training camp starting Monday ahead of the Morocco 2026 WAFCON tournament.

The provisional squad includes France-based midfielder Samiah Phiri, who plays for Thonon Évian Grand Genève FC. The 23-year-old, born in the United States to a Zambian father and American mother, is eligible to represent Zambia once dual citizenship processes are completed. She will be assessed during the camp.

Häuptle has also included several under-20 players who will first join their age-group team preparing for February’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Uganda before linking up with the senior squad.

Zambia are drawn in Group C alongside defending champions Nigeria, Malawi, and Egypt for the tournament running from March 17 to April. The top four teams will qualify for the Brazil 2027 FIFA World Cup.

The Copper Queens made their historic World Cup debut at the 2022 tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
