The Grandfather to the four-year-old boy of Lusaka’s West Apollo whose condition caused public outcry recently, has revealed the agony of not having to live with the minor.
Retired Colonel, Maxwell Mambo, says despite the boy being safe in the hands of the social welfare department, justice must be quickly applied to afford the child a decent lifestyle.
Col. Mambo says it has been unbearable that the child has been made to live in a safe house, without his relatives.
But, Ministry of Community Development Permanent Secretary, Angela Kawandami, says the boy is doing fine in a very beautiful environment and no family member will be allowed to see him until at a later stage.
Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale, says the suspect is in police custody awaiting court appearance once approved by the National Prosecutions Authority.
