.

Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu has called on the public to refrain from making inflammatory or divisive statements regarding the passing of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

Speaking during a press briefing, Mr. Mwiimbu emphasized the need for national unity, urging citizens to rise above political affiliations and personal convictions in order to collectively honour the memory of a man who once held the highest office in the land.

The Minister described the loss as deeply personal, noting that the late President was not only his predecessor at the Ministry of Home Affairs, but also a former colleague within the ministry’s labour community.

He was joined at the briefing by Minister of Defence Ambrose Lufuma and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Media, Thabo Kawana.
