President Hakainde Hichilema says his government has set a target to grow 10 million metric tons of maize in the 2024/ 2025 farming season even amidst the drought.

Speaking during the third Public Private Dialogue Forum-PPDF- Private Sector Day in Lusaka, President Hichilema says in order to achieve the set target, the private sector needs to collaborate with the government by investing in precision irrigation.

Mr. Hichilema says had it not been for the drought, the Zambian economy could have been growing around 5 percent due to the many achievements that could have been met.
