GOVERNMENT SADDENED BY THE DEATH OF A POLICE OFFICER WHO ALLEGEDLY SHOT HIMSELF AT OP OFFICES

Government has expressed sadness over the death of a police officer who allegedly shot himself at the Office of the President (OP) yesterday.

Speaking during a courtesy call on the Mazabuka District Commissioner and the Mayor of Mazabuka this morning, Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu conveyed the government’s condolences over the incident.

He stated that investigations into the growing number of suicide cases among men and women in uniform have not yet commenced, following several reported incidents.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Mazabuka residents are attending Police Day, which is being held at Mazabuka Primary School in Mazabuka.
