GOVERNMENT RELEASES K48 MILLION FOR ZAMPOST RETIREES’ BENEFITS

.

Government has released K48 million to facilitate the payment of terminal benefits owed to retired Zambia Postal Services Corporation (ZAMPOST) employees, providing relief to former workers who have waited years for their dues.

ZAMPOST Postmaster General, Lydia Simakando, described the release of funds as a significant milestone that restores dignity and hope to retirees.

She says the payment demonstrates the Government’s commitment to addressing outstanding obligations owed to retired workers and improving citizens’ welfare.

According to ZAMPOST, the funds form part of the third phase of efforts to clear outstanding retirement benefits.

The corporation says payments will be made on a first-retired, first-paid basis to ensure fairness, transparency and accountability in the disbursement process.
