Former Zambian Ambassador to Ethiopia Emmanuel Mwamba says ratification of the protocol on free movement of goods and people within Africa is the solution to ending human smuggling and trafficking.

Mr. Mwamba says the ratification of the treaty will also help develop African Economies because there will be free trade and exchange of skills.

He says Africans should do away with the notion that Western countries have greener pastures when they can make it within the continent.

In 2018, African countries signed the protocol on movement of goods and people aimed at allowing people 90-day stay in another country.

However, African leaders have been delaying implementation because of inadequate civil registration.
