The Lusaka Magistrate court has jailed four people to six years in prison with hard labour for stealing 100,000 United States dollars and property all valued at K1.7 million Kwacha from their employer, Alberto Cataldi, whilst he was away for a Christmas Holiday in Italy.
In this matter Joseph Sungani Njobvu, 29, a welder of Lilayi, Yotam Tembo, 33, a gardener of Linda compound, Kelvin Munthari, a gardener of Lusaka and Mary Tembo a 24-year-old student of Bauleni Compound have been convicted for the offences of theft and burglary contrary to the laws of Zambia.
The court has, however, given a lesser sentence of 2 years simple imprisonment to Mary Tembo who is also a wife to one of the convicts.
