The theft case involving former First Lady Esther Lungu and five co-accused has been adjourned to February 27, 2026, for mention.
The matter, which was scheduled before the Lusaka Magistrate Court today, has been adjourned by Magistrate Mbuwana Sinvula as Mrs. Lungu remains in South Africa.
She has been in South Africa for nearly eight months handling legal disputes over burial arrangements for her late husband, former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, who died on June 5, 2025.
His body remains unburied 238 days after his death as family members continue to contest the funeral plans.
The matter will return to court on February 27, 2026.
