FORMER COPPER QUEENS COACH BRUCE AMONG THOSE HONOURED

President Hakainde Hichilema has honoured former Copper Queens Coach Bruce Mwape and Shelda Chipito with the President’s Insignia for Meritorious Achievement.

Mr. Mwape coached the Copper Queens from 2018 to 2025 and guided them to a bronze medal at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Others honoured with the Order of the Eagle of Zambia, 3rd Division, include Charles Mando (posthumously), Dr. Cecilia Shinondo (posthumously), and Dr. Joseph Nkolola.

Engineer Dr. Sixtus Mulenga received the Order of Distinguished Service, 1st Division, while Bukolo Mutoiwa has been awarded the Order of the Grand Companion of Freedom, 2nd Division, and Bessie Chanda received the 3rd Division.

The President’s Medal for Gallantry has been awarded to George Siyuni (posthumously) and Bellington Mwape.

Mr Bellington Mwape saved 57 passengers in a Power Tools Bus which was going to the Copperbelt and caught fire.

These honours and awards have been presented during the 61st Independence Anniversary Investiture Ceremony held at State House.
