Lawyers representing Shadreck Kasanda have written to Inspector General of Police Graphel Musamba on allegation that foreign nationals linked to the goldgate scandal have been moved from Chelston Police Station to a government luxury lodge.
According to a letter authored by Makebi Zulu Advocates, dated August 25, 2023, reveals that the foreign suspects are reported to be held at the said alleged lodge located in the affluent Township of Kalundu, in Lusaka.
The demand letter contend the purported move is an act of preferential treatment because the said facility is not gazetted to hold suspects that were charged, hence demands that its client Shadreck Kasanda be released on bond from the unbearable conditions he is subjected to.
The legal firm further demands that all suspects be released on bond and the state should present the Lusaka businessman before court so that bail is applied.
