President Hakainde Hichilema says government will respond to flood cases swiftly so as to save life.
Speaking when he toured Lusangazi district in Eastern Province, Mr. Hichilema noted the need to build local capacity in mitigating the effects of floods.
Mr. Hichilema had told displaced families in Malama Chiefdom that government will aide them with necessities during this difficult period.
And, Chieftainess Msoro said the rains have caused havoc in the area and has also led to some households being displaced, while infrastructure and fields damaged.
The traditional Leader has called on Government to assess and work on the roads and bridges before the rainy season so that proper works are done.
