
Finance and National Planning Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane has unveiled a K253.1 billion 2026 National Budget, representing 27 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Presenting the budget in Parliament, Dr. Musokotwane says K206.5 billion, accounting for 82 percent of the budget, will be financed through domestic revenue, while K12.1 billion, equivalent to 3.7 percent of GDP, will come from grants while K34.5 billion will be financed through domestic and external debt.
The minister hasc further announced that K92.6 billion has been allocated to general public services. Of this, K52 billion will go towards servicing domestic debt, while K22 billion has been earmarked for external debt servicing.
