President Hakainde Hichilema has reiterated that the fight against corruption must never be misconstrued as an abuse of human rights, emphasizing that the ongoing campaign is rooted in the principles of justice, accountability, and transparency. President Hichilema acknowledged that corruption undermines economic progress and the welfare of citizens. He assured the diplomatic community that the anti-corruption efforts would remain impartial and devoid of political interference, focusing on strengthening institutions and ensuring the rule of law prevails. He noted that protecting human rights and upholding constitutional values will remain central to the administration’s approach.

The President further called upon African nations to unite in fostering investments that would drive economic development and create opportunities for their citizens. He stressed that regional collaboration and shared goals are essential in overcoming the economic challenges facing the continent. He called for partnerships with the international community to further accelerate economic transformation through trade and investment.
