The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has extended heartfelt condolences to the family of Chipolopolo midfielder Miguel Chaiwa following the passing of his mother, Mrs. Florence Mulenga.
Mrs. Chaiwa, the wife of Zambian football legend Changa Chaiwa, died on Tuesday evening at Maina Soko Military Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
FAZ President Keith Mweemba has expressed sorrow on behalf of the entire football fraternity, offering solidarity to the grieving family during their time of mourning.
The funeral gathering is currently taking place in Lusaka’s Matero Township and further details regarding the funeral proceedings are expected to be communicated in due course.
Miguel Chaiwa is a key figure in Zambia’s national football setup and also plies his trade in Switzerland and has continued to build on his father’s legacy in the sport
