A father of a seven year old child from the Highlanders area in Mazabuka District is appealing to well-wishers for financial assistance amounting to K20,000 to enable him to seek further medical treatment for his son, who suddenly lost his eyesight after being accidentally hit on the eye by a friend’s elbow within the neighbourhood.
Speaking to Diamond News, Stephen Chipasha explained that following the accident, the child was evacuated to India, where doctors treated him for internal eye damage.
Mr. Chipasha said that upon returning from India, his son, Emmanuel Chipasha, aged seven, partially regained his sight. However, the child has since developed unusual growths in both eyes, a condition that now requires surgical intervention at a hospital in Lusaka as he can no longer see.
