
Police in Kabwe have charged prominent Zambian farmer Maria Zaloumis and four others with the murder of 22-year-old Enock Simfukwe Kasengele of 16 Miles along the Kabwe Lusaka Road.
Ms Zaloumis, 40, of Wonani Farm in Montana, was arrested together with Nathaniel Barthrem, 34, a Nigerian national; Daniel Chiluwa, 40, a farm manager of Onani Farm No. 5; Fortune Mwitangati, 23, of Nyambe Farm; and Gift Daka, 25, of Onani Farm.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says that the suspects have been jointly charged with one count of murder, contrary to Section 200 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia, following the conclusion of investigations by Chowa Police Station.
He says all five remain in custody and are expected to appear in court soon.
