The family of a former teacher at Nansanzu Secondary School in Livingstone, Southern Province who was murdered three weeks ago has called on the police to expedite investigations into the matter.
Bridget Phiri, 40, was killed on May 21st, 2023, by unknown people along Chipembi Road near Linda West Secondary school gate.
Ms. Phiri sustained multiple cuts and head injuries and bleeding from the nose and mouth.
The assailants left her unconscious and she was pronounced dead upon being taken to the Livingstone University Teaching Hospital.
The family tells Diamond News that Ms. Phiri was their breadwinner, adding that her death must be investigated as soon as possible.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says police are still consolidating information and will give further details later.
