Almost two months after his death, the family of Evans Chisale of Nega Nega in Chikankata District in Southern Province has not yet buried their loved one.
The family suspect witchcraft in his death and have vowed not to bury until the suspected witch avails himself to the relatives.
His body was earlier dumped at the suspect’s house identified as Large Mutelo.
The deceased’s twin brother Ernest has told Diamond News that the family will only accept to bury once the suspect’s family and his family have settled the matter.
Chisale died almost two months ago and his body was not buried as the pole bearers alleged that his coffin refused to be entered thus leading them towards the suspect’s house where property worth thousands of Kwacha was burnt to ashes including unknown amount of cash by irate residents.
But Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Gary Nkombo who is also Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament has warned that government will be left with no choice but bury Mr. Chisale’s remains if the family refuses to do so.
His body is still at Mazabuka General Hospital Mortuary awaiting burial.
