Former Anti – Corruption Commission (ACC) Board Chairperson Musa Mwenye says failure to arrest alleged corrupt government officials caused friction at the commission between the board and those with the duties to arrest.
He says the said people instead elected to be selective in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities.
In a statement posted on his facebook page, Mr. Mwenye says almost three years down the line, some government officials must have been arrested and dismissed.
Mr. Mwenye further says it is worth noting that some successive governments have manipulated the operations of the ACC by appointing a stronger board to give a veneer of respectability but appointing management that is userfriendly.
He however says he is proud that his board refused to be intimidated, remained in position and demanded that the right thing is done.
Mr. Mwenye is among former members of ACC board that were recently dissolved by President Hakainde Hichilema following the resignation of the commission’s director general Tom Shamakamba.
