Chief Munema of the Kaonde Speaking People in Kalumbila District, North-Western Province has expressed concern over failure by some elderly people to retire from government and some private companies, despite attaining the retirement age.
The traditional leader says those that are still holding on to their positions are hindering youths from being employed.
Dr. Mumena says the trend has left young people in society competing for jobs with the elderly.
