The African Minerals Development Center (AMDC) has expressed concern over the excessive exploitation of women and the artisanal sector.
Speaking during the Africa Gemstones, Jewelry Exhibition and Conference 2023 in Ndola, Center Acting Director Dr. Marit Kitaw says there is a need to address gender marginalization in the gemstone sector for women to benefit.
Dr. Marit Kitaw has challenged governments on the continent to implement reforms that will enable African countries to maximize the gemstone endowment.
