Economist Grieve Chelwa has expressed concern over some conditions attached to the 1.3 billion dollars International Monetary Fund Extended Credit Facility.

Dr. Chelwa says structural benchmarks such as subsidy removal from fuel and electricity will negatively impact poor Zambians.

Economist Yusuf Dodia says if the government takes the route of increasing corporate income tax, local businesses will be under immense pressure.

Mr. Dodia adds that exemptions or tax holidays that multinational companies are enjoying should be extended to Zambian businesses as well.
