Ex miners in Mufulira district on the Copperbelt province say it is pointless for workers to celebrate Labour Day when the majority in the working age are unemployed.
Emmanuel Muma has urged government to focus on important issues such as unlocking Mopani and KCM and provide employment to residents before talking about celebrations.
Another resident, Peter Kumwenda, says it is difficult to celebrate Labour Day under the current high cost of living in the country.
