A stray elephant from the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park in Livingstone District, Southern Zambia has killed a man of Mukuni Village.

Lamson Siampondo, 33, in the company of his friends, was cycling back home when he met his fate.

Meanwhile, the Mukuni Royal Establishment has expressed concern over the increasing deaths due to elephant attacks in the area.

Douglas Makaye, senior Headman in the palace has urged the government to put up an elephant deterrent fence around the park to prevent human-wildlife conflicts.

Katombola Constituency Member of Parliament, Clement Andeleki, who visited the funeral house has equally expressed sadness that sustainable measures to human animal conflicts have taken longer than expected.
