The Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) has suspended five General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination centres for two years following irregularities recorded during the 2025 examinations.
In a statement issued by Public Relations Manager Nicholas Nkhuwa, the affected centres are Chovwe Day Secondary School and Kabanda Secondary School in North-Western Province, Kampampi in Luapula Province, Yolo Secondary in Muchinga Province, and Twatotela in Lusaka.
ECZ has also nullified results for 1,654 candidates linked to these centres, along with an additional 151 candidates from Mungwi, Kaputa, and Chama districts who sat for the 2025 Junior Secondary External Examination.
The Council says the decision is in line with Section 26 of the ECZ Act, which allows for the nullification of results obtained fraudulently or through malpractice.
ECZ has warned all examination centres to avoid any conduct that compromises the integrity of examinations, urging strict adherence to the guidelines for the administration and management of exams.
Meanwhile, the affected centres will not conduct examinations during the two-year suspension beginning in 2026.
