The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set Thursday, January 29, 2026, as the date for the Kasama Municipal Council mayoral by-election.
The Commission says nominations for the by-election will be conducted on Tuesday, December 20, 2025, while the campaign period will officially commence on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and end on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a day before polling day.
The by-election has been necessitated by the death of Kasama Mayor Ms Theresa Kolala of the Patriotic Front, who passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025.
