ECZ COMMENCES ELECTRONIC INSPECTION OF PROVISIONAL VOTERS’ REGISTER

.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has commenced the Electronic and Online Inspection of the Provisional Register of Voters.

In a press release issued on 22nd February 2026, ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro says the exercise will run until 8th March 2026.

Mr Kasaro has stated that the Commission has officially commenced the Electronic and Online Inspection of the Register of Voters effective 22nd February 2026.

He explains that the initiative forms part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and convenience in the provision of electoral services ahead of the 2026 General Election.

Mr Kasaro says the Electronic and Online Inspection exercise enables registered voters to verify their details as captured in the Provisional Register of Voters, including confirming the correct spelling of names, polling station details and other personal registration particulars.

.

Registered voters can verify their details by dialling *214# on any mobile phone, visiting the ECZ online portal, or downloading the ECZ Companion mobile application from the Google Play Store.

However, he has clarified that the Electronic and Online Inspection is strictly for verification of voter registration details and that corrections cannot be made electronically.

Mr Kasaro notes that registered voters who discover errors or require changes to their registration details will only be assisted during the Physical Inspection of the Register of Voters scheduled to take place from 2nd March to 8th March 2026 at all polling stations across the country.

He has urged all registered voters to actively participate in the exercise and to visit their respective polling stations during the physical inspection period if they identify any discrepancies.
