Residents and traditional leaders in Chasefu district have expressed disappointment at the deep-rooted political divisions between elected leaders and district commissioners, which are said to be derailing development.
The disappointment comes after a scheduled commissioning of Constituency Development Funds (CDF) projects were abruptly cancelled on Saturday, 1st July 2023.
Senior Chief Magodi of Chasefu District says it is disappointing that such Developmental projects are being delayed at the expense of the Chaseful community which has been underserved for so long.
The traditional leader says political interest must be above board and allow people to benefit from the resources which the government has readily made available.
And Chasefu Member of Parliament, Misheck Nyambose, has accused Chasefu District Commissioner Lufeyo Ngoma of frustrating government efforts in developing Chasefu.
When contacted for a comment, Chasefu District Commissioner Lufeyo Ngoma says the program was not inclusive as it was abruptly made by the office of the Member of Parliament, without regard for government officers in Chasefu.
