The Ministry of Education has temporarily closed Luangwa Boarding Secondary of Luangwa District, due to erratic water supply, forcing management to transport pupils back to their hometowns.
But the decision has not sat well with some parents who disclose to Diamond Media that the justification to suspend lessons, just exposes alleged incompetence of the joint local authority taskforce that should have found temporal means of supplying water via bowsers.
They argue that the disruption in lessons will further affect learners who are already behind the term one calendar that was hampered by the recent spread of Cholera.
Others demand clarity on whether there is already an outbreak of a waterborne disease and Covid-19 at the learning institution, since upon arrival all the pupils are are undergoing tests.
Diamond TV is at National Science Centre in Lusaka, where Reporter, Best Jere, has so far witnessed the arrival of the fifth bus carrying pupils, who have been met by parents and some government officials.
