DRY SPELL THREATENS FOOD SECURITY IN CHINSALI
Farmers in Chinsali are facing significant challenges as a prolonged dry spell threatens to undermine food security in the region.
Many are now uncertain about how they will afford to replant their fields after last month’s dry weather conditions devastated crops.
Patrick Kasonde, a farmer from Mulilansolo village, reported that numerous maize fields have either dried up or failed to germinate, leading to a considerable loss of seeds.
He warned that continued erratic rainfall could prevent farmers from achieving good yields, further endangering the area’s food supply.
Farmers are calling for support to manage the crisis and ensure that food production can be stabilized in the coming season.
