Farmers in Sinazongwe District in Southern Province have cried foul at the extensive damage that has been caused to their maize fields by the current drought being experienced in the area.

The farmers are worried that they may have nothing to harvest as all they planted is drying up.

They have since called on government through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unity to come to their aid.

And Sinazongwe District Commissioner Nchimunya Siakole has disclosed that agriculture officers in the district are on the ground to check on the extent of the damage on the crops.
