A driver identified as Lweendo Moonga narrowly escaped death after the truck he was driving lost control and crashed into Shoprite poles in Mazabuka.
The truck, registration AJE 4064, with trailer number AJC 1864, belongs to AS Motors of Kalomo District.
According to the driver, the truck itself remained intact, but the cargo overturned. The vehicle was carrying 900 planks of timber from Lusaka, which spilled off after the trailer flipped and struck the Shoprite barricades and poles.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
Police are yet to issue a statement.
