Diamond Television Zambia, Betika and Century Loans have donated assorted items to the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit DMMU to benefit flood victims across the country.
Among the items are 50 bags of mealie meal, sugar, cooking oil, salt, mosquito repellant and drinks.
Diamond TV Chief Visonary Officer, Costa Mwansa, says what is happening in the country affects everyone and calls for concerted efforts.
He says it is for this reason that to supplement government’s efforts, Diamond TV and partners have come through to donate items to help the victims affected by floods.
Caristo Kanyembo, Betika Managing Director, says they are happy to put together something that can help mitigate the negative impact of floods.
Representing Century Loans, Emmanuel Mukuka, says this is a privilege and honour to help people who are in need and hoping this will go a long way.
And DMMU National Coordinator Dr Gabriel Polen says this is a clear demonstration of the private sector role over.
He says this has come at the right time as the task is really huge .
Over 62,000 people have been affected by the floods across the country,livestock,4 dams and 94 bridges damaged .
