A 66-year-old American tourist has died after collapsing just a few rapids before completing a white-water rafting activity in Livingstone.
Sources close to the incident have told Diamond News that the tourist, identified as Schief Gary Steven, began complaining of a sudden headache upon reaching Rapid 21, a designated resting point along the Zambezi River.
It is reported that while resting, he suddenly collapsed leading to an abrupt end of the activity.
He was later taken to a named health facility in Livingstone, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The deceased was reportedly in the company of his daughter during the rafting activity.
Zambia Police have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
